Departmental Opportunities

Undergraduate students interested in departmental Teaching Assistant (TA), Reader/Grader, or MATLAB Tutor positions should submit an online application at the UCSD Academic Student Employment System (ASES) website:


Applications for the 2017-18 academic year will be accepted beginning May 1, 2017. Initial review of applicants will begin September 1, once the campaign closes — note that you may still apply after this date and will receive full consideration through Winter and Spring quarter if positions are available.

Summer Academy Opportunities

Students with strong Mathematical backgrounds seeking summer employment are encouraged to apply for positions as a Tutor/Mentor during the 2017 UCSD Academy for Transfer Students. This program, running during Summer Session 2 (August 7 - September 9) is intended for incoming transfer students who will be entering UC San Diego in the Fall quarter from a community college or from a four-year college. It is a five-week residential program where incoming transfer students would earn academic credit in major specific gateway courses that are not typically offered at community colleges.The Academy also includes advising and other activities to help incoming transfer students smoothly transition to UC San Diego.
